The Good Doctor's

Cure 2015

A full bodied red reflecting the innate terroir of the Paeroa vineyard in a classic McLaren Vale blend. Earth, grunge, dark fruit and dusty tannis.

The Cure for a life less lived...Mataro is the unsung hero of the Paeroa Vineyard, so well suited to a maritime climate and truly expressive of site. The Shiraz provides depth, length and breadth in this blend, complimenting Mataro's sturdy backbone.

This inspriation for this classic McLaren Vale blend reaches back to the young docs early exposure to life working on the land; the smell of freshly tilled earth, the inviting, enticing redolence wofting from the country kitchen, the lofty, distinctive aromas of the shearing shed; lanolin soaked timbers, dung and hard work. Displaying deep garnet in the glass and an array of savoury aromas on the nose...ripe mulberry, bramble pie and woody spices; cassia, freshly grated nutmeg, cigar box. The palate is earthy and a little bit gamey with beautiful dark fruit weight. The refined, subdued acid dances across the palate, bringing the restrained intensity of the wine to life. Fine, encompassing and dusty tannins support and harness persistent flavour.
