The Good Doctor's

Antidote 2017 (Museum)

In a nutshell...a luscious, medium bodied Italian migrant; juicy, savoury, herbaceous and entirely smashable.

We've taken the liberty of cellaring this wine for you since 2018.

The Antidote to the mundane nine to five coalface life. The night time legend and the weekend warrior unite in a new found passion for the Italian variety Montepulciano to bring you back to life...the up and coming young gun of McLaren Vale.

Dr Plonk’s answer for the modern Australian table, Montepulciano is a beautiful, beguiling and expressive food wine. Savoury, textural, medium bodied...easy on the eye and on the palate. Dark magenta in the glass with an alluring nose laden with ripe plum, worn saddle, summer rain on hot asphalt, mahogany shavings and wild sage flower. The whole berry component delivers aromas of mascerated Maraschino cherry and dried marjoram. The balanced palate offers delicious layers of rhubarb strudel, mace and fresh picked bouquet garni. A medium bodied wine, bright and vibrant with lively acid, juicy fruit, savoury herbs and finishing with subtle, dusty tannins.
